I developed a deep love of food and cooking when I was a little girl. I was influenced by so many people, including my grandparents, who each loved making their own delicious specialty dishes. Italian, Southern, and International cuisines were a staple in their kitchens while I was growing up. My dad was fantastic at whipping up an incredible meal out of the most basic ingredients found in our pantry. Still to this day, I have not been able to replicate that kind of genius. My mom and I spent countless hours reading her cookbooks and together, we transformed many recipes into family favorites. Cooking with my mom is one of my favorite memories and we still have tons of fun when we are able to get together to create a great meal.
I live in Tampa, Florida with my husband, Rick and our two crazy, sweet golden retrievers, Bo and Willow. Rick and I share an intense love of food and enjoy traveling near and far to search for the best. We have found the most incredible dishes at mom and pop eateries, small cafés, and when we are fortunate enough to visit one, a Michelin star restaurant. This blog is my love letter to him.
We believe all food can be comfort food, whether you order it from a sit-down restaurant, grab an order of takeout or whip it up in your own kitchen. For me, there is nothing better than a big bowl of creamy mac & cheese after a long hard day. Rick on the other hand craves my Caramelized Pork Belly Ramen. I usually make a double batch to help him out. 😉
