With Summer a few weeks a head of schedule here in Florida, Rick and I are always looking for ways to cool down and stay hydrated. One of our favorite drinks is this refreshing Strawberry Milk or Agua de Fresa con Leche. It is light and creamy and boy will it hit the spot on a hot day! This is a great drink that can easily be doubled or even tripled for a cookout!

What is Strawberry Milk/Agua de Fresa con Leche?

Strawberry Milk or Agua de Fresa con Leche is a simple, uncomplicated but incredible drink. It is a traditional Mexican refreshing fruit water with the addition of at least one type of milk. This recipe has two varieties of milk – whole milk and sweetened condensed milk. The addition of milk provides a delightful creamy texture to the drink.

You will find that many Strawberry Milk/Agua de Fresa con Leche recipes call for added sugar. Personally, I think there is enough sugar between the strawberries and sweetened condensed milk. Because of this I do not add any more sugar. I prefer the lighter naturally sweet flavor of the recipe you’ll find here.

What is the difference between Strawberry Milk and Horchata Fresa?

A traditional Mexican Horchata is made with Rice Flour while this Strawberry Milk is made with a mixture of water and milks.

Ingredients

  • Strawberries, halved
  • Cold water
  • Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • Whole milk
  • Vanilla Extract

Can I use frozen strawberries?

Yes! Fresh or frozen, it does not matter. However, I would let your frozen strawberries thaw a little before blending the ingredients together.

Can I use any other berries?

Absolutely. You can use any mix of berries that you’d like. Keep in mind, if you are using a berry that has larger seeds (ie. raspberries and blackberries), you will want to strain your mixture after blending to help remove seeds.

How long will Strawberry Milk keep?

It is best consumed within 3 days, if it lasts that long! Store it in the fridge tightly covered. Give it a quick stir before serving again!

I am really excited for y’all to try this. This is on frequent rotation in our house. I’m lucky if it lasts a couple of hours! You will be surprised at how flavorful this is with just a few simple ingredients! If you try it, let me know below!
